Firearm Suppressor Safety & Responsibility Guidelines

Legal Compliance
Suppressors are regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA). Legal possession requires an approved ATF Form 4, background check, tax stamp, and registration to the lawful owner. Only use and transport suppressors where legal. Never possess or install an unregistered suppressor. When in doubt, consult a licensed FFL/SOT or attorney.

Safe Handling
Only a sophisticated user (trained or experienced individual) should install or remove a suppressor. Otherwise, use a qualified gunsmith. A sophisticated user is an individual with specialized knowledge, training or experience that allows them to understand, operate or assess complex products or systems without needing standard instruction or warning. If you are not a sophisticated user have a qualified/certified gunsmith install suppressor.

Before installation or removal:
• Ensure firearm is unloaded
• Remove magazine and inspect chamber
• Point firearm in a safe direction
• Keep finger off trigger
• Never place hands over muzzle
• Do not allow others to handle the firearm during installation
• Never install a suppressor on a loaded firearm.

Heat & Use Safety
Suppressors become extremely hot during firing. Do not touch until fully cooled. Use only approved covers. If alignment is questionable, stop using immediately to prevent baffle strikes or injury.

Maintenance
Allow suppressor to cool before handling. Wear gloves when cleaning and use only approved solvents. Inspect regularly for fouling, obstructions, damage, or loose components. If problems are found, stop use and consult a gunsmith.

Professional Inspection
Proper barrel alignment is critical. If you cannot verify concentricity, have a gunsmith inspect it. Never modify or repair a suppressor yourself.

Storage & Transport
Store in a locked container and keep NFA paperwork accessible. Follow all federal and local transport laws.

Installation
Clean and lightly lubricate barrel threads. Hand-thread suppressor until seated; do not force or cross-thread. Confirm it is straight and centered. Snug with a wrench only if necessary.

For removal, rotate off the barrel (direction depends on thread type). Inspect components for debris or looseness before reuse.

Mounts/caps should be installed with anti-seize; use medium-strength high-temperature threadlocker only if loosening occurs after heat cycles.

WARNING: the suppressor can get extremely hot - do NOT Touch/grab it. Debris can misalign parts and allow a bullet to strike the baffles or front cap - stop using the suppressor if alignment is questionable.

Caliber Limits
Use only within rated calibers:
.30 cal: up to .300 Win Mag
.45-70: not larger than .45-70
5.56: not larger than 5.56
5.7: not larger than 5.7
.22: not larger than .22

Ammunition & Alignment
Use quality factory ammunition only. Always verify firearm is unloaded before installation and ensure proper bore alignment. If unsure, have a gunsmith inspect the firearm.

Using the suppressor outside its intended specifications can cause damage to property, serious injury, or death.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
1. Proper alignment of the barrel threads with the bore axis is critical to avoid baffle strikes. If you cannot verify concentricity yourself, have a competent gunsmith check and correct it before installing the suppressor.
2. Ammunition choice strongly affects suppressor performance. Always use good-quality, factory-new ammunition in your host firearm to reduce fouling and minimize the chance of damage or malfunction.
3. Before installing the suppressor, open the action and make sure the firearm is unloaded—remove the magazine and visually/physically check the chamber. If you’re unsure, consult the operator’s manual. Do not install a suppressor on a firearm with the action closed.
